Using a dedicated business number
Why your API traffic should come from a dedicated WhatsApp Business number, and how to set it up so customers trust it.
Mursilat sends from your WhatsApp number, linked like WhatsApp Web. Which number you link matters as much as any line of code.
Why a dedicated number
- Your personal chats stay out of your systems and your webhooks.
- If customers report marketing messages, only that number is affected — keep OTP and order updates on a number that never sends campaigns.
- Clear warm-up: the Number Shield caps cold messages by the number’s age, so plan a few weeks of gradual growth for a new number.
A real business profile
Use the WhatsApp Business app on the phone and fill in the profile: business name, logo, description, address and hours. Customers trust (and answer) a recognisable business more, which also keeps your health score up.
Keep the phone healthy
- Keep WhatsApp installed and open it regularly: linked devices are logged out when the phone stays offline for a long time (about 14 days).
- Don’t log the number in to other automation tools at the same time (
connection_replaced). - Subscribe to
number.statusandsession.statusto know at once when it disconnects.
Groups
You can read the groups of a number, but sending to groups is blocked on purpose: spam reports from groups get numbers banned fastest.
